WELCOME TO

THE STNDRD

At THE STNDRD, we believe fitness should feel empowering—not intimidating. Our gym was built for people who want more than a workout; they want a community, real guidance, and the confidence to show up for themselves every single day.

We combine expert coaching, purposeful programming, and an energetic culture to help you push past limits, lift smarter, move better, and feel stronger in every part of your life.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to raise the standard of how people show up for themselves and for those around them. Not your STNDRD gym.
We exist to build strong, capable humans — not just through training, but through discipline, belief, and community. What starts in the gym carries into homes, families, friendships, and everyday life.
Our goal is for what we teach to become generational — passed on through behaviour, example, and values.
This isn’t about getting everyone inside our four walls…..It’s about ensuring what happens inside these walls improves the world outside of them. Fitness is the tool. Becoming a better human is the outcome.

The coaches behind The STNDRD

The STNDRD coaching team sets the bar high. They train hard, coach harder, and bring an unmatched level of expertise to every session. This is group fitness as you've never seen it before. You’ll see them on the floor, sweating with the community, leading by example, and challenging you to unlock new levels of strength and performance.

Founder · Head Coach

Kye Hislop-Dewar

I was introduced to strength training as a skinny 17-year-old kid. Training became the way I built belief in myself — not just physically, but mentally. It gave me confidence, a sense of direction, the feeling of earning wins, setting targets, showing up, being proud, and proving to myself that I was capable of more. That experience shaped my passion for strength training, which has been a constant in my life for the past 27 years.

Wanting to instil that same confidence and sense of self-belief in others — while building a life driven by purpose — led me to change careers in 2019. That journey resulted in opening G3 Fitness Narellan in February 2022. After seven years of coaching and four years of growing the studio, we’ve continued to evolve and are proud to launch THE STNDRD HQ.

What drives me most is helping people achieve what they once believed was impossible. I believe training should be a non-negotiable — as essential as the water you drink and the air you breathe — supporting both mental and physical health so you can show up as the best version of yourself for the people who matter most. My goal is to create a space that feels like home. Where strangers become your biggest cheer squad and everyone feels seen, supported, and proud of what they’re capable of. With a community that feels like family and a culture of real purpose and belonging.

Studio Manager • Coach

Nate Thomas

My name is Nate, and I’m the Studio Manager at THE STNDRD HQ. My journey into the fitness industry has been a little different, beginning with a background in the military before starting my career in fitness as a yoga instructor and progressing into coaching.

Since then, I’ve worked across multiple studios and trained in a range of different training modalities, gaining valuable experience along the way. What I’m most passionate about is connecting with people, building strong relationships, and helping members get the absolute best out of themselves.

I’m excited to bring my experience and passion for the fitness industry to THE STNDRD HQ and play my part in continuing to elevate the experience, the community, and the standard we set for our members.

HYROX Coach · Head Coach

George Packer

My name is George Packer, and I’m the Studio Manager and one of the Head Coaches at THE STNDRD HQ. I’ve been in the fitness industry for over six years and have been training for most of my life. I believe in creating a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and encouraged — no matter where they’re starting from.

At THE STNDRD HQ, my focus and passion are helping people grow stronger both inside and out, within a space where they can belong, challenge themselves, and thrive.

Coach · Member Engagement

Callie Panton

My name is Callie — known as Cals — I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 2 years. What drew me into this space wasn’t just training, but the people: the conversations, the connections, and the sense of community that comes from showing up together.

I love being part of an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and comfortable being themselves, no matter their starting point. That’s what makes training meaningful to me.

Senior Coach

George Bashour

Hi, I’m George — also known as Big G. I’ve been in the fitness industry for over 16 years and have a strong passion for helping people achieve things they once believed were impossible. I have an extensive background in teen athletic development and love applying the fundamentals of strength and conditioning in ways that transfer directly into sport and real-world performance.

I’m known for bringing energy and humour to the coaching floor and genuinely enjoy connecting with people — whether that’s having a laugh, a chat, or helping someone push past their limits. In 2026, my goal is to beat my previous HYROX doubles time — this time flying solo. I’m also excited to continue growing one-on-one PT in our new space and helping people take their training to the next level.

Coach

Christine Darragh

My name is Christine, and I’ve built my experience in the fitness industry working across multiple studios and a range of different training environments. My coaching knowledge is grounded in strength and conditioning, with additional experience in Olympic lifting, qualifications in pre and postnatal training, and further education and training through ERG Army.

I’m known for bringing plenty of energy to the coaching floor and love being actively involved with members throughout every session. I’m passionate about creating an environment where people feel supported, challenged, and motivated to push themselves.

For me, coaching is about connecting with people, bringing out their best, and making sure everyone leaves a session feeling like they’ve achieved something.

Coach • Olympic Lifting Coach

Matt Batger

My goal as a coach is to help members of all levels and abilities build confidence, discipline, and resilience through structured, effective training. I’m passionate about strength and conditioning and enjoy programming sessions that leave a lasting impression.

While I’ve been coaching for two years, fitness has been a significant part of my life for much longer. I’m constantly learning and developing, drawing knowledge from training courses, industry mentors, and real-world experience. The most rewarding part of my role is helping people realise they’re capable of more than they ever thought possible. I look forward to working with you, helping you reach your goals, push past your limits, and discover what you’re truly capable of.

Coach

Rueven "Benny" Carbonel

I’m Coach Benny. I’ve been coaching strength and conditioning for three years and delivering remedial massage for over ten years, helping keep bodies operating at peak performance. I train with intent, recover with purpose, and enforce a non-negotiable standard — everything I do is driven by my family and the example I choose to set every day.

I believe strength is built through discipline, character, and consistency — both inside and outside the gym. This space is built on effort, accountability, and respect. No shortcuts. No excuses. We show up, we do the work properly, and we rise together. This is THE STNDRD HQ.

Coach

Emma Austin

Hi, I’m Emma.

Training has been a passion of mine for over 10 years, and I’ve spent the past two years coaching as a group personal trainer at THE STNDRD HQ. I’m passionate about helping people feel strong, confident, and supported through their training, no matter where they’re starting from.

Whether you’re brand new to the gym or ready to level up, my goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where you feel comfortable to challenge yourself and grow. I love being part of a community that supports one another and helping members build confidence in both their training and themselves.

JOIN A COMMUNITY LIKE NO OTHER

The community at THE STNDRD is the heart of everything we do. Our members are supportive, welcoming, a little chaotic in the best way, and always ready to hype each other up. You’ll train hard, laugh often, and find people who make showing up the best part of your day.
